The aim of this course is to introduce students to ongoing debates on gender issues from a global and multidisciplinary perspective. Students will engage with current research, examining the state of international debates on women, gender, and development. The course will highlight specific topics such as gender discrimination in labor markets, gender disparities in the distribution of resources and opportunities, women’s empowerment, welfare regimes and gender inequalities, fertility choices and family policies.
