The aim of this course is to introduce students to key concepts of coastal and fluvial geomorphology. The course aims at teaching theoretical and applied aspects of coastal and river related hazards under a geomorphic perspective and introducing tools for flood hazard assessment and mitigation.

By the end of the course, the student is expected to have acquired:

1)     The basic knowledge on coastal and fluvial hydro-morphology;

2)     The capacity to recognize the main fluvial morphological processes;

3)     The capability to assess and quantify the main morphological changes;

4)     The capacity to use the main tools for fluvial flood hazard assessment.
