The course introduces the student to the design issues involved with the "special machinery" widely used in the manufacturing industry.
In particular, knowledge, methodologies for choosing, analysing and synthesizing the most commonly used mechanical, pneumatic and electric actuators for automation systems are covered. This course is an overview of automatic machinery and the manufacturing industry world from a mechanical and mechatronic point of view.
