In this one-semester course, we will explore a variety of advanced machine learning methods for mining clinical data. Much of this exploration will be a hands-on experience, using time in class to expose the principles of each method. We will explore machine methods you have already learned about and then we will focus on new methods, including naturally-inspired computational approaches, natural language processing, and temporal data mining, as well as evaluation methods and ethical considerations.
